Frequently Asked Questions

Types of Concrete?

  1. Brushed Concrete
  2. Exposed Aggregate Concrete
  3. Coloured/Stamped Concrete

How Does The Cost of Concrete Compare to Asphalt and Interlock?

Asphalt is your cheapest option. Concrete is more expensive than asphalt, but still cheaper than interlock. As a general guideline asphalt is half the price of concrete and concrete is half the price of interlock. Give us a call for a free estimate on your project.

Benefits Of Concrete Driveway

  1. Little to no ongoing maintenance depending on the type of concrete
  2. Does not create pot holes in areas constantly driven over or parked on
  3. Easy to shovel
  4. Long term solution with normally at least double the life of asphalt

Strength of Concrete?

We use 32 MPA (Megapascal) concrete for all of our concrete pours. Megapascals is another way of measuring PSI (Pounds per square inch), which equates to roughly 4,600 lbs/per inch. This strength of concrete should be used for driveways. We use it in everything to ensure a long lasting solution.

How Thick Do You Pour Concrete?

We pour driveways roughly 5 1/2 to 6 inches thick on driveways and roughly 4 inches for patios and walkways that only experience foot traffic. As stated before we use 4600 PSI concrete so plenty of strength for any residential or light commercial applications.

Do You Reinforce Your Concrete?

We reinforce all of our work! We use 9 gauge wire mesh or 10mm rebar at 2 foot centres depending on what the customer wants.

When Is The Best Time to Pour Concrete?

When the weather is above -10 degrees Celsius.

Do You Provide a Contract?

Yes, we provide a contract with all of our work to protect both our clients and Ace Concrete.

What is Included/Excluded in Your Price?

We do not provide any landscaping after our concrete projects UNLESS it is expressed to us and written in the contract. We do seal our decorative concrete projects.
